Mrs Watkin

Hello, and a warm welcome to our Year 6 class page. Here you will find useful information and resources to help you gain a clearer understanding of your child's learning in Year 6 and how best to support them at home. This includes our curriculum map, which provides a long-term overview of learning throughout the year, and our class timetable which will give you an understanding of what a day in Year 6 looks like. We cover some fantastic topics over the year including: Climate Emergency, Suffragettes, Stone Age and Ancient Greece.

We are really enjoying working with your children on their learning journey and watching them grow and develop.  Your continued support at home is really beneficial and highly appreicated by the whole Year 6 team. If there is anything you have questions or concerns about, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Key information for Year 6:
  • P.E. days are on a Monday. Please wear correct P.E. uniform to school rather than school uniform on this day. Earrings are not allowed during P.E. sessions for safety reasons, please remove them in the morning before coming to school.
  • Your child should read at home at least four times each week, please record all sessions in their reading record when they have read at home as rewards are given.
  • Spellings will be given each week and will be tested each Wednesday. Please support your child with practising these at home.
