Today, our school community came together for a special Lent retreat, providing a meaningful opportunity for the children to deepen their faith and understanding of this important season in the Church’s year. Throughout the day, the children took part in a range of reflective and prayerful activities, including quiet prayer, guided reflection on Scripture, and thoughtful discussions about how we can grow closer to God during Lent.
The children also engaged in hands-on activities such as planting seeds, helping them to understand the themes of growth, renewal and new life that are central to the Lenten journey and the promise of Easter. They were encouraged to think about how they can live out Gospel values through acts of kindness, generosity and service to others.
The retreat provided a calm and spiritual space for all, allowing the children to pause from their usual routines, reflect on their own faith journey, and strengthen their relationship with God. It was a truly enriching experience that supported both their spiritual and personal development.

Our Lent Retreat was a truly wonderful and calm experience for everyone involved. Through rolling worship, thoughtful prayer stations, and peaceful outdoor worship, pupils had the opportunity to reflect, connect, and find stillness together. A special day filled with quiet joy and meaningful moments.

What an incredible day at the iRock concert! Our pupils truly amazed everyone with their talent and confidence on their instruments. The atmosphere was full of energy, smiles, and proud moments all around. A fantastic performance enjoyed by all—well done to every single one of you on such a brilliant achievement!

Alex had a great morning as Deputy Principal last Friday after winning the golden ticket. He greeted children on the gate, helped with the Golden tie assembly, supported with lunch bands and the newsletter, looked at children's books, inspected house points and carried out a learning walk with Mr Johnston and our Chair of Governors, Mrs Barton. He did a brilliant job! Well done Alex!

This year we are talking part in The Big Lent Walk again to raise money for Father Hudson's Caritas. Our sponsored walk will take place on Thursday 19th March at 1.30pm at the Rugby School.
Our Lady of the Magnificat MAC and Holy Spirit MAC are aiming to raise £50,000 for Father Hudson's, and our school target is £1000.

On Thursday, children from Nursery all the way up to Year 6 became real-life detectives as part of our Science Week Crime Scene Investigation!
The mystery? Who crushed the biscuits in the staff room?!
Armed with their scientific skills, our young investigators examined the evidence using a range of exciting experiments and techniques. They carried out chromatography to analyse the ink from the mysterious note left at the scene, carefully measured footprints using different methods to identify the suspect, and even tested the force needed to break the biscuits to see if it matched the evidence!
Every class played a part, using observation, measurement, and scientific thinking to piece together the clues and solve the crime. It was fantastic to see such curiosity, teamwork, and enthusiasm for science across the whole school.

Today was an exciting day for our Science Week celebrations! All classes from Year 1 to Year 6 swapped teachers and worked with two new teachers to take part in two different science investigations.
From making oobleck and testing helicopters, to the egg drop challenge and The Great Biscuit Dunking Investigation, there was curiosity, laughter, and lots of learning happening across the school!
Pupils became real scientists, making predictions, discussing ideas, asking questions, carrying out investigations, and carefully recording their results. It was wonderful to see so much enthusiasm, teamwork and scientific thinking in action.
So much fun was had by everyone while exploring, discovering and learning together!

Today the whole school — from Nursery right up to Year 6 — took part in The Great Paper Towel Investigation!
Each year group explored the investigation in a way that suited their age and stage of learning. Across the school, children measured, tested and compared results using a range of methods including spoonfuls and millilitres. They recorded their findings using graphs, pictograms and other data displays, showing fantastic scientific thinking and teamwork.
It was wonderful to see the investigation approached in so many different ways across the year groups — and most importantly, we absolutely loved it!
