Year 3 had a fantastic time in PE learning how to play rounders! We practised a range of important skills including batting, throwing, catching and fielding, whilst also learning the rules of the game and how to work effectively as a team.
The children showed great sportsmanship throughout, encouraging one another and demonstrating resilience as they developed their confidence and coordination. It was wonderful to see everyone so engaged, active and enthusiastic during the games.
Well done, Year 3, for your excellent teamwork, determination and positive attitudes, we definitely have some future rounders stars in the making!

A huge thank you to our amazing PTA for gifting our Year 6 children their leavers’ hoodies!
The excitement was clear to see as soon as they arrived — everyone absolutely loved them and many didn’t want to take them off… ever!
These hoodies will be such a special reminder of their time at primary school and all the wonderful memories they have made along the way.
Thank you again to the PTA for your kindness and support in making our Year 6 pupils feel so special.

KS2 Beach Disco Fun!
What a fantastic time everyone had at our KS2 Disco! The beach theme was a huge hit, and it was wonderful to see the children dressed so brilliantly in their colourful summer outfits and accessories.
The hall was full of energy with great music, dancing, laughter, and plenty of tasty snacks to enjoy. It was lovely to see everyone having so much fun together and creating such happy memories.
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the evening such a success!

Today our Key Stage 2 children were visited by Hunt's Bookshop together with children's author, Fiona Dixon. Fiona spoke with the children about her life as an author and how she created the ideas for her book, Crow: Thief of Magic. The children were fascinated to hear about the imaginative world that Fiona has woven into her story of magic, adventure, friendship and mystery. Fiona signed copies of her book for those children who bought one and a further limited number of signed books are still available for purchase at Hunt's bookshop. Our children were inspired by the experience of meeting an author and they have already started creating their own story ideas.

The Year 1 children had another fantastic afternoon at Forest School yesterday. They enjoyed hot chocolate and biscuits around the campfire. The children took part in various activities such as den making, clay making and playing in the mud kitchens. They also explored the grounds looking for insects. A key favourite for the class has definitely been using the tyre / rope swings and den building!

As part of the Marian Prayer Chain across Our Lady of the Magnificat MAC, we were delighted to welcome the statue of Mary into our school community this week. The statue was placed on the communal prayer tables in both the KS1 and KS2 halls, where children spent time gathered together in prayer and quiet reflection throughout the day. Each child was invited to write a special prayer to Mary, helping to create a whole-school prayer chain which will be proudly displayed throughout the Month of Mary. It was a lovely opportunity for our children to unite with other schools across the academy in faith, prayer and devotion to Mary before the statue continued on its journey to the next school within our MAC family. A special thank you to our Prayer Leaders and Mini Vinnies for their help in creating and organising the KS2 prayer chain.

Yesterday in Science, Year 3 explored the fascinating life cycle of a flowering plant! We learned all about the different stages, including germination, growing into a mature plant, pollination and seed dispersal.
To help us remember the process, we made our own interactive life cycle wheels using split pins so we could rotate through each stage of the cycle. The children showed fantastic enthusiasm and scientific understanding throughout the lesson and were able to explain each stage confidently using lots of new scientific vocabulary.

This week our whole school came together for Mass to celebrate the Feast of the Ascension. It was a wonderful opportunity for us to come together in prayer and reflection as a school community. The children represented the school beautifully through their reverence, singing and participation throughout the Mass.

Nursery have been very busy this week completing a range of lovely activities to consolidate their learning on their focus story The Very Hungry Caterpillar! They enjoyed drawing a picture from their favourite part of the story, turning themselves into butterflies and learning how to make a paper chain caterpillar!
