We are in our busy Summer 2 term with lots of fantastic things happening at St Marie's, here are dates for both June and July. Please see the calendar for timings and locations                                                    11th  - Father's Day celebration 2.15pm on the Merttens site 13th  - Year 2 Leicester Botanical Gardens school trip 13th - SEND coffee morning with Miss Jordan 9- 9.30am on the Dunchurch site 14th  - First Holy Communion 11am St Marie's Church 16th  - 4GC Share a Prayer assembly 18th  - Year 6 Drayton Manor school trip 19th - 6EP Pizza Express school trip 20th - 2SM Share a Prayer assembly 20th - The 2025 Rugby area Athletics Championships 23rd  - 1SD Share a Prayer assembly 25th - School Sports Day. KS2 races will be from 9.15am - 12.00 noon, Picnic for all children (Reception to Year 6) from 12.00 noon- 12.45pm Reception and KS1 races will be from 1.00 -2.15pm 26th - 6JM Pizza Express school trip 26th - Rugby 360 Service Day at the Rugby School, KS2 pupils 27th  - INSET day 30th- Reception Share a Prayer assembly    2nd - Transition Day 4th - Magnificat Sports Day at Trinity Secondary School Year 4 and 6 (12 children from each year group) 7th - St Marie's Got Talent final - KS2 9.05am on Merttens and KS1 2.30pm on Dunchurch 9th - Year 6 pizza and disco end of year treat 3.30pm - 5.30pm 10th - Nursery graduation - 3.30pm 14th - End of Year Reports to Parents 14th - 1ML Share a Prayer assembly 14th - KS2 iRock concert 9.05am start 14th - End of Year picnic on Merttens (3:15-4:30pm) 16th - Year 6 end of year performance 6pm start 17th - KS1 iRock concert 9.05am start 18th  - Last day of term Monday 21st July to Friday 29th August - Summer holidays   The school's calendar can be downloaded to your devices. We announced the winners of our KS1 talent competition yesterday! All the finalists gave incredible performances, and the results were very close. A huge well done to everyone who took part and auditioned - we are already looking forward to next year’s event! Congratulations to our winners: 1st Place – A Magician 2nd Place – A Singer 3rd Place – A Zoo Keeper Runners up- cheerleaders and football tricks. Great job everyone!

We are extremely proud of our Year 4 and Year 6 children who attended the MAC Sports Day last week. The children gave it their all and everybody had a fantastic day. Year Four came first in their category bringing home a trophy and Year Six came second. Well done everyone! Our Lady of The Magnificat Multi-Academy

Due to the rise in temperature, children are welcome to wear their PE uniforms on Thursday and Friday this week to help keep them cool. Please remember to apply sun cream and send your child with a sun hat and a water bottle.

Mrs Docherty's class had fun learning how to use coins today. Everyone had to pay 10p to wash their hands before lunch, using a selection of small coins. It was amazing to see 10p made in so many different ways without a 10 pence coin in sight!

We took part in a thoughtful and inspiring Pledge Day, reflecting on global issues and learning about the important work of CAFOD. Year 6 had an incredible day at Rugby School for Rugby Service Day! They took part in a variety of inspiring activities, including a music instrument lesson, a fun-filled dance session, and even learned how to write in Cantonese! We would like to remind all parents and carers that we are a nut free school. Please do not send your child in to school with any food that contains nuts - this includes on the playground before and after school. We have children in our school that have severe nut allergies so please be mindful of this. Many Thanks.

On Thursday, 6JM spent the morning at Pizza Express creating pizzas under the guidance of the chef. At the end of the morning each pupil left with their pizza cooked. Congratulations to Evan, the chef chose his as the best made pizza.

Our talented Year 2 children have been exploring the world of Sol LeWitt. Inspired by his iconic geometric sculptures, the children used paper straws and modelling clay to recreate and reimagine his structural designs. Their artwork shows incredible imagination and a brilliant understanding of shape, balance and space.
